<p>
<div style="text-align: left;">I had so much fun shooting this game, it was a rare Thursday game and it was in Spokane Wa. at Joe Albi Stadium. What a treat, first it was in a real stadium with artificial turf (it was cool) and a huge scoreboard, and best of all it was played during the day. It has been a year since I have been able to shoot a football game in daylight. On top of all that, the Dogs played great&#8230; they won 40-7 so they looked good and made a lot of great plays. Great for shooting.</div>
<p>
<div style="text-align: left;">For a photographer, light is are friend and our enemy. On this day it was my friend, and I welcomed it.</div>
<p><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_hWJsyDvyNnA/Rv3mxxsfDSI/AAAAAAAAACc/MatL6ztEagg/s1600-h/TCM_7815.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_hWJsyDvyNnA/Rv3mxxsfDSI/AAAAAAAAACc/MatL6ztEagg/s320/TCM_7815.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5115498494590651682" border="0" /></a>
<div style="text-align: left;">But&#8230; it was short lived. As the sun was setting, it started creating shadows and the shadows got bigger and bigger. One of the problems that this creates is a huge swing from dark to light. The dark areas are not all that bad in of it&#8217;s self, but when you have super bright light reflecting of the white walls of the stadium, you have contrast, big time.</div>
<p>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_hWJsyDvyNnA/Rv3pZBsfDTI/AAAAAAAAACk/BO44GDCbbqc/s1600-h/TCM_8078.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_hWJsyDvyNnA/Rv3pZBsfDTI/AAAAAAAAACk/BO44GDCbbqc/s320/TCM_8078.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5115501367923772722" border="0" /></a>So&#8230; you really need to be aware of this and make adjustments as you go. You can&#8217;t use your cameras automatic setting because when it sees the very bright areas, the in camera meter will want to set the exposure to it neutral settings, but then if your subject is in the dark shadows they will be under exposed, so much that they can be just a silhouette (non usable). It takes practice to be able to get it to the point where you can get good shots.</div>
