I had so much fun shooting this game, it was a rare Thursday game and it was in Spokane Wa. at Joe Albi Stadium. What a treat, first it was in a real stadium with artificial turf (it was cool) and a huge scoreboard, and best of all it was played during the day. It has been a year since I have been able to shoot a football game in daylight. On top of all that, the Dogs played great… they won 40-7 so they looked good and made a lot of great plays. Great for shooting.

For a photographer, light is are friend and our enemy. On this day it was my friend, and I welcomed it.

But… it was short lived. As the sun was setting, it started creating shadows and the shadows got bigger and bigger. One of the problems that this creates is a huge swing from dark to light. The dark areas are not all that bad in of it’s self, but when you have super bright light reflecting of the white walls of the stadium, you have contrast, big time.
